From a cultural
point of view. The most important place today is, without
any doubt , the " Palazzo Casali" , where the "
Museum ol the Etruscan Accademy and of the City of Cortona
is situated Recently it opened to the public with a renewed
centre of exposition, which unites the historical " Museum
of the Etruscan Accademy" and the new section of archeological
reperts of the Etruscan and Roman city.
An other appointment with art and culture is represented by
the Diocesan Museum, situated in front of the Cathedral, here
you can admire the artistical memories of this city as from
the year two '200 up to our days, and works of important values,
as " the announcement " of the Beato Angelico (1395-1455)
to the " Assunta " by Bartolomeo della Gatta (1448-1502),
to the "Comunione degli Apostoli"
by Luca Signorelli (1448-1523) to the maps for the "
Via Crucis " by Gino Severini ( 1883-1966). |
